CARE HOMES
Taking part in physical exercise as we age is so important. Not only does it get our joints moving, it stimulates our brains, promotes mental wellbeing and encourages us to engage with others.
It was with this in mind that we first started to offer our sporting activities to care and dementia homes. We are proud to have a long and happy association with Blanning House Dementia Care day centre, Dassett Road age exclusive housing, Fountains Care Home, Hampton House assisted living, Ardenlea Grove Care Home, Ardenlea Court Care Home, Amberley Court Care Home and Harper Fields Care Home.
The arrival of our coaches at these venues is eagerly anticipated and the uptake of the activities is excellent. The sports are carefully chosen to include all levels of skill and mobility - even curling can be played from a chair! The sport on offer is wide-ranging, including botcha, inclusive tennis, archery, multiskills, table tennis and basketball - something for everyone, all physical abilities and interests.
During the 2020/21 Covid lockdowns we worked closely with Solihull Council and Solihull Active to support assisted living villages and care homes by delivering sports equipment for the residents to use and keep. We also sent online video support to assist carers and residents alike, giving them instructions, helpful tips and encouragement.
If you would like to bring sporting activities to your care home, day centre, or assisted living venue please contact us. We would be delighted to discuss what we can offer.
